Anika Kalra's volunteer trip to India

I will be volunteering in Jaipur India for six weeks in July-July 2018. Please assist me in raising the funds I need to make my trip a reality. My volunteer work will be to observe local doctors and perform routine tasks in a local clinic/health center and participate in community outreach programs. The focus will be on the treatment and prevention of diseases and raising awareness of preventative measures. I am a Global Poverty and Practices minor at UC Berkeley hoping to get into Medical school. My grandma runs a charity clinic in India. Watching her all my life and the work she does has inspired me to follow in her footsteps. My goal for the future is to work in the medical profession and travel once a year to an under developed nation to help the underprivileged. This opportunity will help me better understand the problems surrounding poverty in India. It will also allow me to learn about the struggles people face and how my actions can hopefully help them. Can people like me make a difference? Can you help me get there?
